Truckee River Flood Project

The mission of the Truckee River Flood Management Project is to reduce the impact of flooding in the Truckee Meadows, restore the Truckee River ecosystem, and improve recreational opportunities by managing the development and implementation of the Truckee River Flood Management Project.

The Flood Project is a a joint effort between the cities of Reno and Sparks, Washoe County, the US Army Corps of Engineers and numerous stakeholders. Early on the Truckee River Flood Project developed an action plan that provided a forum for residents, businesses, community leaders, regulatory agencies and government officials to conduct an analysis of flooding issues and evaluate possible solutions.
